After a successful Early Access period, Forza Motorsport is now available to players on console, PC, Xbox Game Pass, and Cloud Gaming services. As players can enjoy the plethora of content from the Builders Cup to Featured Multiplayer playlists, there are important features and mechanics like crossplay, cross-progression, accessibility options, and wheel support to enhance their gaming experience.

However, players will encounter gameplay, graphics, audio, and technical issues in-game, which all players should be aware of. We've detailed the official patch notes for Forza Motorsport, listed in this guide below.

14th November 2023: Forza Motorsport Update 2.0 Released

Developer Turn 10 Studios announced that Update 2.0 has been released on 14th November 2023 for Xbox Series X|S consoles, Windows, and Steam. The patch notes are detailed below.

Developer Turn 10 Studios has officially launched Forza Motorsport for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Cloud Gaming, Windows PC, and Steam on 10th October 2023. While players who grab the Premium Edition and the Premium Add-On Bundle could play the game five days early, the developer has detailed their Known Bug Issues list of identified errors players have experienced in-game.

While we don't have a timeline for when the developer will roll out hotfix updates, we can confirm that content updates will be released monthly. Some of the issues will be platform-specific, which will be highlighted in the Known Issues list and patch notes, respectively, for players to distinguish between general and platform-specific fixes.

As such, players who wish to report an issue can create a ticket on the Forza Support page here, and it will be moved to the Known Issues list, which they can view here. Additionally, all the latest Known and Fixed Issues will be announced on social media, and players can follow the official Forza Support account on Twitter/X.

Stability (All Platforms)

  • Many fixes to improve overall game stability and reduce crashes across all platforms.

Livery Editor (All Platforms)

  • Fixed an issue where players can view and unlock tunes and vinyls shared by other players.
  • Fixed an issue causing the black paint shade to show up as grey instead of black. Fixed issue where only the inner barrel on factory rims is paintable.
  • Fixed an issue where livery and tune creators would not be displayed in Private Multiplayer when viewing the vehicle information.
  • Fixed an issue where “Likes” would not be counted for shared liveries. 
  • Various other livery editor issues were addressed.

PC

  • Fixed an issue requiring shaders to recompile every time Forza Motorsport is started on AMD chipsets.
    • Note: This fix requires downloading the latest AMD drivers for your graphics card.
  • Fixed a specific game crash that occurs if headphones are plugged into the front panel. 
  • Fixed an issue on Steam where the player could not exit the Builders Cup Intro Series and return to the main menu without restarting the game.
  • Improvements to alleviate track textures disappearing when playing on certain PC hardware configurations.
  • Various other PC issues were addressed.
    • Note: We’re investigating an issue where, in specific scenarios, players running an AMD GPU might encounter a slight impact on their framerate during gameplay.

Multiplayer (All Platforms)

  • Fixes to matchmaking as a group, party management, and invites and joins across multiplayer.
  • Fixes to ensure custom liveries show up more consistently across multiplayer game modes.
  • Fixes to address cases where Intermission/Launch Countdown would take much longer than expected before the start of multiplayer races.
  • Fixes to automatic wet tire selection when entering an event and fixes to fuel estimation logic.
  • Fixes to title stability when resuming from a suspended state on console.
  • Fixed issue in the Featured Multiplayer menu where a countdown timer would appear on Series that had not started.
  • Adjusted event schedule to provide more variation in Event start times.
  • Fixed an issue where the Race End timer did not appear for players who had already finished the race.
  • Fixed an exploit where players could load into any Open Class event with a P Class vehicle if they matchmake while in a party. 
  • Various other multiplayer issues were addressed.

Gameplay (All Platforms)

  • Fixed an issue where players could encounter an infinite loading screen when saving a Quick Upgrade in the Builders Cup Career Mode.
  • Resolved an exploit related to changing car tune mid-race. 
  • Fixed an issue where the game becomes stuck in the “new content update” loop when entering the main menu.
  • Resolved issue where the game would fail to reconnect if the connection is lost during the initial races on Maple Valley or Hakone.
  • Fixes to Replays in scenarios where Replays do not start playing, the cars do not move, or they float.
  • Fixed an issue with a forced camera change at the start of a race.
  • Fixed a number of Builders Cup exploits, allowing high-class cars into lower-class series and events.
  • Fixed issues related to loss of progression or saved data.
  • Fixed a number of visual scene transitions
  • Fixed a bug where replaying a series with a high standing didn’t replace the series trophy with the improved trophy.
  • Improved balancing and overall impact of slipstream effect between cars in races.
  • Fixed issue where a player would not receive credits or Driver XP when using a rental car in a Rivals event.
  • Various other gameplay issues were addressed.

Cars (All Platforms)

  • Fixed an issue with the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS Sport Roll Cage visual upgrade option, which removes the roof of the car when viewed in first person.
  • Fixed tuning stat comparison indicators within the car upgrades menu. 
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect car thumbnails would be displayed in the My Cars menu after a race.
  • Various other car issues were addressed.

Accessibility (All Platforms)

  • Fixes were applied to numerous scenarios where narrator voiceovers would be missing, incorrect, or would stop playing.
  • Various other accessibility issues were addressed.

Wheels (All Platforms)

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Thrustmaster T248 LED screen from displaying race position information. 
  • Various other wheel issues were addressed.

Other Categories

  • Various other issues across the game have been addressed.

Forza Motorsport is available from 10th October 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, Cloud Gaming, Windows PC, and Steam. Players who pre-ordered the game received Early Access, which began on 5th October 2023.
